All,

It is with regret I need to inform people that due to abuse from SPAMMERS on our comments section, comments will NOT be automatically released onto the blog. It is this blatant abuse of the internet's services and legitimate services offered by people investing time and money into enterprises that forces people like us to restrict peoples access to our public content and restricts peoples access to constructive criticism.

I am extremely upset by this and hope you all understand that there may be a dely in your REAL comments being posted!

Ends.

All quiet on the western front

Published 27/06/2007 14:27:00 - Application Development

It has now been ages since there was any update to the development of Addactive. This is mainly due to the main Developer & Designer being so bogged under that it has been extremely difficult to get any work done.

However there is going to be a big push on getting the functionality up to a standard to allow for a limited amount of Alpha Testing to start to take place in the coming weeks and I'll be keeping people updated as much as possibly about the developments taking place.

On top of the developments for the online community I hope to be updating you all on developments that are going to be made in getting some externals sponsors and partners involved from health food stores to gyms and sporting facilities.

In the meantime please keep an eye on what's going on.

Laters!

 New Servers

Published 20/03/2007 11:38:00 - General

Well all, here we are again, I`ve just noticed an anomoly. First lets clarify a few things, we are now onto our more relyable new servers and I'll explain a bit about these in a bit but I must appologies for the fact that we have a post or two in the move. All our blog entries sit in their own database detacted from the main Addactive database and somehow in the move which our hosting company were overseeing we've lost the last post. we have not lost anything of vital importance in regards to our other systems (dev etc) so not to worry.

I'll have some infor for all you tech heads in a bit on the new servers. I hope you'll all be impressed!

 Database Development

Published 20/03/2007 11:34:00 - Application Development

Just a quick little update on the development front. I'm currently sorting out or main database. We are coming along fine with the development and will be working on some of the more fundamental technology underpinning our systems in the course of te next couple of weeks. Mark has been working hard on the UI and the User Experience and I'll be looking to plug it all in.

I'm currently in the 3rd Revision of the database making sure it's as streamlined as possible and as efficient as possible to make sure that you guys get the best user expierence that is possible without compromising functionality.

Watch this space!

Welcome to the Official Addactive Blog

Published 30/01/2007 08:55:00 - Application Development

Well, this is the first post in the official Addactive.net blog! What I'd better do is tell you all about it and what's going to be happening then.

Addactive.net is a community of people with an active lifestyle. Whether you're interested in football, tennis, rugby, badminton, bowls, or going to the gym then Addactive.net aims to hook you up with like minded people. Let me talk you through it a different way.

Bob is a regular gym goer (or wishes he could go more often!) but is finding it ever harder to get up on those cold dark mornings to drag himself to the gym. This is where Addactive.net steps in to fire up his ispirational juices in the form of hooking him up with a gym buddy. Jenny, is new to the area (Bob's area) and she wants to join a gym as she'd been doing going to old gym for a while. She logs onto Addactive.net and searches for gyms in the local area and finds the profile of Bob's gym. She likes the look of it and decides to head down to check it out. Whilst surfing the gym's profile she notices that Bob had put a bulletin out saying that he was looking for someone to go to the gym with and Jenny being new to the area and wanting a social aspect to inside and outside gym life sent Bob and message and they arranged to meet at the gym the next morning.

So through Addactive.net you can find new people that are into what you're into and get to know each other in a safe, real world, environment.

Dave's was told about Addactive.net by a friend so he logged on to see what all the fuss was about. Dave runs a local 5-aside football team and thought that it'd be a great idea to create a profile for his team as it was easier and a lot cheaper than getting a website that would need constant updating and promotion. He invited all the memebers of his team to join Addactive.net and get their own profiles as well as automatically linking their profiles with the team's so within a few clicks he had a large network of people and could easily let them know about updates to the team and club.

Addactive.net is all about connecting people and it doesn't matter whether you're a team, a club, a group, a network, a bunch of friends or just an individual by creating a profile on Addactive.net you'll find yourself linking with others who have the same interest in no time.

Anyway, that's enough to give you an idea of what Addactive.net is all about. It's about connecting people, and the best thing is that it's totally free!
